Sorting through photos in a way that best tells the story is an art. So is writing just the right amount of copy. Don't end up with a jumble. Make your book the best it can be.

Choose your photos
Search your phone or computer, select favorites, and gather them into one folder. You can share digital images or give me prints to scan. Every print is returned promptly.

Share with Storyline
Upload your folder to Google Drive and share access, or email Helen directly. A simple photo-sharing process means less stress and fewer email attachments.

Create the story
I edit the pictures, design the pages, and write the words. We shape captions and narrative together.
Photo sharing made simple
The easiest workflow is to collect your images in one Google Drive folder and share that folder with Storyline. If you would rather upload directly, there is space for that too.
Scanning & Sorting Photos
Turning boxes and albums into a beautiful Storyline book starts with careful, high-quality scanning and thoughtful sorting. Every print is handled as an irreplaceable memory.
Standard Photo Scanning (600 DPI)
Loose, clean 3x5, 4x6, or 5x7 prints that can be safely fed through a photo scanner.
Rate: $0.40 per photo.
Premium Flatbed Scanning
For fragile, torn, Polaroid, odd sizes, or prints stuck to pages that need extra care and higher resolution for enlargement.
Rate: $2.50 per photo.
Album Handling
Careful removal from old “magnetic” albums or manual scanning of full pages when removal isn't safe.
Rate: $45 per hour.
Back-of-Photo Notes
Dates, names, and captions on the backs of prints can be scanned and used as inspiration for the text in your book.
Rate: $0.10 per photo.
Sorting & Curation
If your photos arrive already grouped by decade, event, or family branch, scanning goes faster and stays in order. If you prefer to hand over a “shoebox of everything,” I can sort and group them for you.
Sorting fee: $45 per hour.

Storyline services
$4.50 per page with 20-page minimum plus tax, plus charges for photo book vendors (see below).
Printing & vendor costs
Printing, tax and shipping are paid to the photo book vendor (Shutterfly, Mixbook, Vistaprint, etc.). Storyline researches and recommends the best vendor for the project. Pricing varies by size, pages and specs. Vendor discounts are applied.
When payment is due
Payment is due upon placement of order, based on the estimated number of pages and book specs. An estimate is supplied before work begins, and adjustments can be made if more pages are added.
Accepted payments
ACH, Venmo, cash and Zelle preferred. We also accept Visa and Mastercard.
Base Storyline Book Package includes custom layout and design plus scanning of up to 40 photos at 600 DPI. Additional physical photos are billed at the standard or premium scan rates above. Minimum scanning fee: $30 per project to cover setup and digital organization.
